How to draw PONYTAIL

Zentangle pattern: Ponytail. Image © Linda Farmer and TanglePatterns.com. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. You may use this image for your personal non-commercial reference only. The unauthorized pinning, reproduction or distribution of this copyrighted work is illegal.Welcome back, lovely to run across yous over again! And a very Happy Mon, Happy Columbus Day (sales!), and Happy Thanksgiving.

Today we take a super easy tangle to explore, Ponytail is from Maryland CZT Angie Gittles.

Ponytail is Angie's 6th tangle on the site and she explains,

Ponytail is an easy, versatile grid fragment. I think it would work outside the filigree too.

I like it best when every other fragment is turned 90 degrees.

The name came almost considering the variation with the 2 orbs in the centre reminded me of those former ponytail ties that had the balls on the ends cinching a ponytail.

I searched Google for ponytail holders and who knew how many different kinds there are! (Mind y'all, my hair is about half an inch long so I won't be needing one any time shortly.) I chose a photo of the variation I used for my Ponytail example and Angie used in her first tile below.

Angie illustrates the footstep-by-step instructions for cartoon Ponytail beneath where she includes some ideas for variations to explore. Angie'south sample Zentangle® tiles feature CZT® Marie Browning's Jester, (with Angie's own A-Frame tucked in at that place), Simone Bischoff'southward Girlande and the Zentangle-original Flux. The variation with the rounding tangle enhancer on the Bijou tile is cool too.

From The Book of Zentangle:

"Keep it Non-representational. Zentangle artwork is intended to exist non-representational. Zentangle'due south elemental strokes are also not-representational.

We don't teach complex elements such as hearts, stars or flowers. Tangles are too non-representational."

Retrieve that tangles never get-go with pencil planning! If you need a refresher on what makes a tangle, read the A PATTERN IS Not Ever A TANGLE folio on the ZENTANGLES menu bar at the top of any page.

Everyone is invited to submit patterns, you exercise NOT need to be a CZT. All the same, in club for patterns to be considered for TanglePatterns.com they must be submitted to me by e-mail. In other words you have to let me know nigh them. Here's how:

For details on how to submit your pattern for consideration visit the SUBMIT YOUR Design page on the top menu bar of any page on the site. On that menu yous will find these two pages:

    1. How to submit your pattern deconstruction to TanglePatterns, and

When your examples include additional tangles from the site, please list them in your email. (This saves my memory some wear and tear.)

If your pattern is posted on your web log, adhere your steps and tile images to your electronic mail and be sure your electronic mail includes the direct URL then I can link to it.

And remember, to quote Zentangle's co-founders Rick and Maria: tangles should be "magical, simple and easy to create", non-objective patterns of repetitive strokes that are easy to teach and offer a loftier degree of success to tanglers of all ages.

"Go on the tangles as little similar 'drawing something' equally possible."
